OUR ORIGINS
In the context of major conflicts, political and economic crises and wars that took place on the territory of the former Yugoslavia, Mr. Milan Bjelić, back in 1992, based on the vision of the existence of a single economic space, founded the company MAGNET, which over time grew into MALBEX WBI. Based on the full compatibility of developing economies, cooperation with partners from the region, Europe and Asia, the years of receiving rewards for participation in various programs include:
- Production of refractory materials (plant in Macedonia - Pehčevo, plant in Serbia - Magnohrom Kraljevo) and up to 2,500 employees
- Production of raw materials for the refractory materials industry (mine in Turkey - Tavşanlı) with 98 employees
- Shipbuilding (shipyard in Perlez near Zrenjanin) with 240 employees
- Production of reinforcement mesh (plant in Lastva Grbaljka in Montenegro) with 30 employees
- Construction of commercial and residential buildings in Belgrade (construction company in Belgrade) with about 140 employees
- Representative offices or companies in Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Turkey, etc.
During the great economic crisis that occurred in 2008, in an effort to minimize its negative effects, MALBEX was forced to narrow its activities to the sector that had been its core business since the beginning of the company's existence, and for this reason it remains only in the refractory materials sector, being the owner of the plant in Kraljevo (formerly Magnohrom). With a tendency to significantly increase production capacity, in 2021, MALBEX sold a majority stake in the Kraljevo plant to the largest Chinese manufacturer of refractory materials PUYANG REFRACTORY CORPORATION, a company that ranks among the largest in the world in this field. Meanwhile, in the first stage of investment alone, this strategic partner invested about 15 million euros in the reconstruction of existing capacities and the purchase of new equipment, most of which is robotic. Thus, the production capacity was increased by about 5 times and one of the most modern plants in Europe was created.
OUR GOALS
Recently, MALBEX has been working intensively to develop the agricultural sector, both in terms of conquering the domestic market and in terms of developing foreign trade with EU countries, selling goods from this sector, as well as importing certain types of agricultural products from these countries.
The third sector that MALBEX has been organizing and developing in recent months is the sector of engineering works in the field of reconstruction and construction of industrial enterprises in the field of metallurgy. One of the first projects, which has been in development for a long time and through which MALBEX tends to enter this field, is the project of reconstruction of the air purification system for a well-known client, in which MALBEX will act as the general contractor together with business partners from China, who are equipment manufacturers.
